I AM MARY

And I create sculptural wall works that explore the intersection of fluid form and rigorous structure. By manipulating three-dimensional surfaces, I invite the viewer to move - as the perspective changes, the work transforms, revealing new depths through the play of time, light and shadow.

At the core of my practice is a feminist re-centering of emotional intelligence. I view softness and intuition not as vulnerabilities, but as essential strengths. My work serves as a physical reclamation of the "too much" - the emotions we (the women) are often taught to contain. In my studio, these feelings become architectural.

The Matriarchal Influence: My aesthetic is deeply formed by my multicultural upbringing. I am the first-generation being born and raised in Germany with roots in Greece, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Armenia. I was raised within a powerful matriarchy. Watching my mother, grandmother, and sister, I learned that femininity isn't fragile; it is a quiet, resilient power. Their influence is the backbone of every curve and fold I create.

From Expectation to Obsession: In many migrant families, success is measured by the stability of an honors degree and a secure corporate title. It's a common way to honor the sacrifices of those who came before. I studied psychology and spent over a decade rising through the ranks of corporate sales. I mastered the art of strategy, the pressure of targets, and the analytical precision required to lead.

Yet, art remained my constant, the space I returned to every night to process the noise. I no longer try to choose one world over the other. My work is the final answer to a life spent "in-between". It's the place where my roots, my femininity, discipline, and raw emotion finally meet.
